We Only Use Waterless Printing
Waterless printers worldwide are winning national and international environmental awards in recognition of their environmental standards, and many have received ISO 14001 certification for their Environmental Management programs. Waterless printing eliminates volatile organic compounds, water use, many worker health hazards all while increasing forest conservation. Waterless printing eliminates volatile organic compounds, water use, forest conservation and many worker health hazards.
Volatile Organic Compounds
Waterless printing eliminates dampening-related volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the printing process. Some VOCs have been linked to the deterioration of the earth's protective ozone layer and, consequently, to global warming.
Water
Large presses can consume hundreds of thousands of liters of water per year for normal printing operations. Waterless printing uses computer to plate technology (CtP) and silicone plates to eliminate the need for water and chemicals.
Forest Conservation
Another benefit of waterless-printing is the consistency throughout a press run, which is much better than that of traditional printing resulting 30-40% reduction in paper usage.
Worker Health Hazard
Traditional printing exposed the printers to air born organic solvents all day. Waterless printing eliminates this hazard and the risk for liver, kidney, lung, skin and nervous system damage.
More About Our Environmentally Sound Manufacturing Process
We don’t use any chemicals in our manufacturing process. By comparison, plastic and corn cards use many harmful chemicals. Corn card manufacturers imply their cards are biodegradable, but further research reveals that temperatures of 140 degrees for ten consecutive days are necessary for composting corn products. The chemicals incorporated into corn cards for biodegradability only promote fracturing of the cards into smaller, less manageable pieces with age under normal conditions.
We only use water to soak the raw timber, rendering the water absolutely harmless and not requiring any attention or special disposal. The water used in the production of wood cards can be released harmlessly back into the environment or simply recycled for the next batch of trees.
