Our Cards Are the Environmentally Sound Alternative to Plastic

They work just like plastic key cards; they’re durable, reliable and reusable, but they help the environment instead of harm it.  Our biodegradable cards are made from Nordic Birch grown in certified sustainable forests. By supporting sustainable forests we help decrease carbon dioxide in the environment and reduce the greenhouse effect and global warming.

Our cards are manufactured with clean Swedish energy and printed using the latest waterless printing technology. We recycle wood waste from our manufacturing process to provide heat and hot water for our production needs. In addition, our manufacturing process uses less energy and water than that used to produce petroleum-based plastic cards, and they weigh half as much as plastic.

Every step of the way, we strive to reduce our environmental impact and leave green footprints.

Our Cards Are Customized to Meet Your Needs

We offer three types of high-quality wooden cards, each representing different benefits and levels of sustainability, reusability and durability.

The names for the Scandic Card Series are derived from our company’s Scandinavian heritage. The Hede Card, our original, oldest and all-wood card, is proudly named for the small, rural, mountainous town of Hede, where we manufacture our cards in Sweden. The Viking Card, our most durable card, is aptly named for its strength in honor of Scandinavia’s legendary seafaring Vikings. The Norse Card, our most cost effective card, is named for Scandinavia’s Norsemen, well-known 8th Century merchants and traders.

Finished cards for European and North American clients are punched, printed and personalized in our plant in Hede, Sweden. Very large finished card orders are sometimes fulfilled in part or whole by our card manufacturer partners in the U.S. and Europe, using our patent-pending veneers.
